About Infinita Academy - The Academy organizes hands-on training workshops for veterinarian and humane doctors. Our workshops and programmes are focused on practical training, so we offer synthesized theoretical information and give special attention to hands-on training. We always invite lecturers with extensive experience and to share their knowledge.
What is BAVOT? We are a NPO group with a mission to sustainably increase our members‘ expertise and skills, through organising education events and courses.
The BAVOT spinal surgery workshop is designed to introduce participants to basic small animal spinal surgery. This 2 day course consists of lectures and practical exercises on canine cadavers.
Topics to be covered include the neurologic examination and interpretation, imaging of the spine, and an overview of the most relevant surgical spinal diseases of the dog (IVDD, AAI, CSM, LS).
Decompressive procedures and instruments will be reviewed and afterwards performed by participants in a cadaver lab.
The course is appropriate to every veterinary surgeons, general surgical expertise is helpful.
Dr. Bianca F. Hettlich med vet habil
She is a diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Surgeons and American College of Veterinary Surgeons.
She completed her univertity education in veterinary medicine at Ludwig Maximilians University, Munich, Germany in 1999. In the following year she started her faculty career in Texas A&M University in Texas, USA. Soon after Dr. Hettlich becomes an assistant professor and then associate professor She works in Texas A&M University and Ohio State University in the field of Small Animal Surgery (Orthopaedics) and Neurosurgery. In 2015 she relocated in Europe and continued her career in the Univerity of Bern, Switzerland and a clinic in Stuttgard.
Currently she is Independent consulting in Orthopedics and Neurosurgery.
Dr. Vladislav Zlatinov graduated in veterinary medicine in 2005 in Sofia.
Since 2009 he has been working as a chief vet and senior surgeon at the Central Veterinary Clinic - Sofia. There he gained his main clinical experience and grew asa specialist in the field of orthopedics and spinal surgery. Since 2021 he started working as a freelance surgeon.
He is speaker/instructor in many educational events of BAVOT and AOvet. Dr. Zlatinov is co-founder of BAVOT and an active member of AOvet. He is an autor of 15 clinical publications.
Dr. Svetoslav Hristov graduated in veterinary medicine in 2005 at Trakia Univeristy, and then specialized in small animal surgery there. Since 2007, he is small animal surgeon in United Veterinary Clinic, Varna, Bulgaria,strongly oriented in diagnostic and treatment of orthopaedic and neurosurgical cases.
He is co-founder of BAVOT, and a member of Bulgarian Association of Small Animal Veterinarians. He is a frequent speaker at many international and local congresses, seminars and workshops. He is a regular speaker of AOVET.
His interests are in the field of orthopedics and traumatology, neurosurgery, complex fractures, joint surgery, corrective osteotomies and spinal surgery. He actively conducts training in these areas in Bulgaria and Europe.
